Message Etiquette

Paperwork & Arrival:

All paperwork must be completed online before your appointment. If this is not possible, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete the paperwork. Late arrivals may result in a shorter massage to avoid inconveniencing other clients.

Showering:

As the SRWC is a fitness facility, we understand that clients may work out before their appointments. However, we kindly request that you shower prior to your massage to ensure a pleasant experience for both you and the therapist.

Cancellations:

  • Advance cancellations (more than 24 hours’ notice) can be made through the Acuity app or by contacting Beach Balance.
  • Late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) must be made by phone.
  • A $25 no-show or late cancellation fee will apply and will be deducted from the initial payment. The remaining balance (excluding service fees) will be refunded within 3–5 business days of the scheduled appointment.

Inappropriate Language and Actions:

All massages provided at Beach Balance are therapeutic and non-sexual. Our therapists are certified by the State of California and maintain strict professional standards. Any remarks or gestures perceived as harassment or inappropriate will result in the immediate termination of the session without a refund.

Medical Considerations:

Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical treatment and may not be suitable for individuals with certain injuries or medical conditions.
Therapists cannot provide spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or treat physical or mental illnesses.
If contraindications are identified during the session or through the intake form, therapists may request a physician’s clearance and terminate the session if necessary.

Tipping:

While tipping is appreciated, it is not expected. Any gratuities should be handed directly to the massage therapist, as Beach Balance staff cannot handle tips.
