What We Offer
The Open Recreation program provides students with access to SRWC facilities, including the multi-activity courts, group fitness rooms, pool and sand volleyball court during designated hours.
Participants can check out the necessary equipment for these activities at the equipment checkout area. We are dedicated to ensuring the Open Recreation experience is available during facility hours of operation. However, please note that some areas may be closed due to special events. For the latest updates, call the front desk at (562) 985-0775.
Checking Out Equipment
SRWC members and guests can check out sports equipment at the equipment checkout desk. All equipment must be used for its intended purpose (e.g., indoor basketballs should only be used on indoor courts, tennis racquets on tennis courts, etc.).
To maintain the quality of our equipment, we ask participants to handle items with care. Members are responsible for any lost or damaged equipment.
- Members: Day-use checkout requires the use of the HandKey system.
- Guests: A log signature is required to check out equipment.
By accepting the equipment, participants agree that it is in good condition and will return it as received.
Late and Damaged Equipment
Participants are responsible for all equipment checked out or reserved under their name.
- Equipment must be returned in the same condition as when it was checked out.
- Participants will be held accountable for any costs associated with damaged or lost equipment.
- Late fees will apply if equipment is not returned by the deadline.
- Unpaid fees may result in suspension of SRWC access and possible account holds.

Sand Volleyball
The Aquatics Center at the SRWC boasts a professional-grade sand volleyball court built to official height regulations for both men’s and women’s beach volleyball. The court features Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP)-grade sand, ensuring a top-notch playing experience.
The sand volleyball court is available for recreational use during regular Aquatics Center hours. It can also be rented for special events.
