Programs
Infants & Toddlers
The program for children aged 6 months to 2 ½ years is located in our dedicated infant and toddler facility. In the infant and beginning walker rooms, we maintain a high level of attention and care with a maximum of six children and a ratio of one adult for every three infants.
In the younger and older toddler rooms, we can accommodate up to eight children with a 1-to-4 adult-to-child ratio.
We require a minimum enrollment of two sessions per week, either in the morning or afternoon. Many childcare experts believe that regular attendance is crucial as it helps children adjust to the new care setting more comfortably. If you are concerned about your child’s ability to adapt to new environments or unfamiliar people, we recommend considering enrollment for at least three sessions per week to facilitate a smoother transition.

Preschool
In our preschool environment, we accommodate two distinct development groups, organized into what we call the Blue School and the Purple School, each offering cross-age groupings.
The Blue School caters to children aged 2 ½ to 4 years, maintaining an adult-to-child ratio of 1-to-7.
The Purple School is designed for children aged 3 ½ years up to kindergarten, with an adult-to-child ratio of 1-to-8.
For student families, the minimum enrollment requirement for this program is 3.5 hours per day, two days per week. For faculty, staff, alumni and community families, the minimum commitment is 3.5 hours per day, three days per week. This structure ensures consistent engagement and fosters a stable learning environment for all children.
School Age
The after-school program for children in kindergarten through second grade is held in our school-age facility. For this age group, we maintain an adult-to-child ratio of 1-to-10, ensuring each child receives ample attention and support in their after-school activities.

Nutrition
Mealtime at the Isabel Patterson Child Development Center (IPCDC) is an essential occasion for both nutrition education and enjoyable conversation. We display weekly menus detailing upcoming food plans. Meals are prepared on the premises without additives or preservatives.
The IPCDC’s meal program does not include soda, punch, candy, beef, pork or hot dogs. Vegetarian children are offered an alternate meal on the days that meat (chicken, turkey or tuna fish) is served.
The IPCDC participates in the California Department of Education’s Adult and Childcare Food program, ensuring equitable food service without discrimination. All children in attendance are served the same meals, at no separate charge, regardless of their sex, race, color, disability, religion, national origin or ancestry.
For infants aged 6 to 12 months, meals are customized based on individual plans. Older children in the infant and toddler program are offered meals according to a set schedule or upon parental request.
A minimum commitment to this program is two morning or two afternoon sessions per week.
